7 Engineering Projects for "IAT" in the GCC Scientific Forum

Students of ATHS Dubai presented 7 innovated scientific projects during the activities of the 20th Scientific Forum for the GCC youth which will be concluded on 22 November, 2012, at Sharjah Youth Center with the participation of 60 male and female students "below 13 years" representing GCC countries.

Mr. Ahmad Al Rahel, Vice Principal ATHS, Eng. Khaled Al Jarrah from the Mechanical Engineering department and Eng. Samir Hamasha, Lead teacher, Mechanical Engineering department, supervised the students during the forum.

Skills for Life 2012, Registration Continues for UAE Nationals

Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) announced the continuation of registration for male and female national students to participate in the program "Skills for Life 2012" which started on 1st July and runs until the 19th, while the age of participants has been reduced from eighth grade to the sixth. The program is organized at IAT high schools across the country.

Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Director General of ACTVET and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Applied Technology said that the program is rich and provides opportunities for advanced training that will work on developing technical and personal skills for more than 1500 national students associated with public and private school between grades six and twelve.

The Institute of Applied Technology and Higher Colleges of Technology decided to launch a new University program in the framework of an agreement by which IAT graduates will be awarded a Bachelor degree in engineering within 3 years instead of four in six disciplines, they are: electrical, electronic, mechanical, mechatronics, civil and chemical engineering. The agreement will be implemented in the next academic year.

292 UAE Nationals Received Advanced Training in 8 Industrial Countries

292 UAE Nationals from IAT High Schools concluded their training mission in major industrial enterprises in eight industrial countries: USA, France, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Ireland, Canada and Scotland, during which they received advanced and specialized training in various fields of engineering, technolgoy, Space, Aviation, Nuclear Energy and other fields. The mission, and for the first time, included 48 female students and 20 students from Advanced Science Program in grade nine.

 

Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Managing Director, IAT, said that the foreign missions for ATHS students come within the implemented advanced scientific curriculum which include the latest universal methods needed for the preparation of young UAE cadres capable of keeping pace with the technical development in the industrially advanced countries.

IAT Delegates 244 Male and 48 Female Students Abroad

The Institute of Applied Technology announced the delegation of 292 UAE male and female students from Applied Technology High Schools during summer to receive training in major international industrial establishments in USA, France, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Ireland, Canada and Scotland.

The training program encompasses various fields of engineering, technology, space, aviation, nuclear energy and more. The delegation includes, and for the first time, 48 female students.
