Fatima College for Health Sciences, affiliated with the Institute of Applied Technology, attained a universal achievement by obtaining the international institutional accreditation "AdvancED SACS" of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States.
AdvancED SACS is one of the oldest institutions of academic accreditation in the world that deals with the quality of educational outcomes according to the highest international standards.
The Institute of Applied Technology announced yesterday the results of the Applied Technology High Schools with a success rate of 91%.
The Institute of Applied Technology inaugurated "Oracle" International Academy specialized in the training of students, teachers and staff according to the latest software and database management system at the headquarters of "Abu Dhabi Polytechnic" in the Applied Technology Complex in Mohammed bin Zayed City, in the presence of Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Managing Director of the Institute of Applied Technology and Prof. Alfonso di Ianni, Deputy General Manager of "Oracle" Corporation in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The academy has already started its activities in "Abu Dhabi Polytechnic" as implementation of the agreement signed by Dr. Ahmad Al Awar, Director of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic and Ms. Jane Richardson, Director of Training Academies Programs in "Oracle".
The number of applicants to the Applied Technology High Schools affiliated with the Institute of Applied Technology has exceeded 4000 male and female students in the different emirates. The students were subjected to acceptance tests and personal interviews during the months of March and April 2013.
The Institute held the acceptance tests in all the Applied Technology High Schools to select the best competencies in the students who are inclined to study in the scientific technological path. The Institute which will accommodate 1850 student in the next academic year 2013/2014 has accepted 1500 students so far.
The new branch of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, affiliated with the Institute of Applied Technology has been launched in Al Ain with six advanced programs to prepare qualified national cadres in the aviation sector, they are: Diploma and Higher Diploma in Aircraft Engineering Technologies, Aircraft Maintenance Technologies and Air Traffic Management in the former "Al Ain International Aviation Academy" campus. In addition, it offers specialized courses to grant technical certificates in Aircraft maintenance.
